Densei-sen:Rules and Regulations
The forms of handicaps We will determine the forms of handicaps in consideration of the results of the 9th UEC cup.
Tie games The handicapped player, i.e., the professional plyer, wins tie games.
In other word, black owes white 0.5 point for komi to break possible ties.
Time control Each player has 30minutes of thinking time. After the time is exhausted, he/it must make each
move in 30 seconds. Note that we ignore periods of time that are consumed by operaters of computers
to input human moves and to realize outputs on the go board.
Rules
We apply the rules of the UEC cup to this competition. Problematic cases peculiar to this man-machine
competition will be judged by the referee in accordance with the Japanese rules of Nihon Kiin.
Computer operations
We prohibit in principle any operation of computers except move inputs during each game. When the operators
want to solve some unexpected technical problems that may occur during the games, they must explain
the circumstance and operate computer to solve them with the referee.
Troubles
[Troubles caused by wrong inputs or misreading outputs]

•When an operator makes a mistake, he/she must declare it to the referee. The referee stops the time
immediately to confirm it and directs to restore it to the operator. The period of time consumed for
the restoration shall not be included in thinking time.

[Troubles caused by runtime exceptions]

•If an operator finds an unusual behavior of computers, he/she should declare the situation to the
referee. The referee stops the time immediately to confirm it and directs to restore it to the operator.

•If an unusual situation occurs due to a fault of the entrant of computer player, the time required
for the restoration is added to the thinking time. However, if the thinking time does not remain, it
may not include in the thinking time by referee's judgment.

•If an unusual situation does not occur due to a fault of the entrant of computer player, the time
required for the restoration is not added to the thinking time.

•The referee may also judge other kinds of troubles.
Dishonest act
When a doubt of dishonest acts arises in the entrant of computer player, the organizers may investigate
computers and thinking logs. The entrant is required to save executable files which can reproduce
current game, and to keep the computers for three months. When a clear dishonest act of the entrant
is revealed, we will revise the result of this competition and claim restitution of prizes.
