The 12th Computer Go UEC Cup

Regulations

1. System and ranking procedure of the competition
*There may be changes due to the online event. Please follow the instructions of the tournament organizer for details.

  • This competition consists of preliminary matches(1st Day) and final leagues(2nd Day).
  • Preliminary matches (1st Day) are held on the first day joined by all programs to choose 16 teams that proceed to the final tournament held on the second day. An anomalistic Swiss style will be used for the preliminary-game matching up to the sixth game, and the Swiss style for the seventh game (final match).
  • If the number of programs participating in the preliminary games is odd, GNU_Go will be added as an invited program.
  • To decide the ranking of the preliminary games, after converting draws to 0.5 wins and 0.5 losses, the following conditions are applied in the order of listing.
    1. Competitors with the higher number of wins are ranked higher.
    2. Competitors with the higher score of Solkoff (the total number of wins of all the opponents) are ranked higher.
    3. Competitors with the higher score of SB (the total number of wins of opponents they have defeated) are ranked higher.
    4. For the competitors in the same rank based on (1) to (3), those with higher scores of DB (the number of wins minus the number of losses) are ranked higher.
    5. Decided by lot.
  • On the 2nd day (final leagues), the final ranking is decided by round-robin competition by the two ranking leagues (1st to 6th in the A-League, 7th to 12th in the B-League) of the top 12 teams following the order of the preliminary-match ranking. (If the number of qualifying participants is less than 12, only A league will be formed).
  • To decide the final ranking, after converting draws to 0.5 wins and 0.5 losses, the following conditions are applied in the order of listing.
    1. Competitors with the higher number of wins are ranked higher.
    2. Competitors with the higher score of Solkoff (the total number of wins of all the opponents) are ranked higher.
    3. Competitors with the higher score of SB (the total number of wins of opponents they have defeated) are ranked higher.
    4. For the competitors in the same rank based on (1) to (3), those with higher scores of DB (the number of wins minus the number of losses) are ranked higher.
    5. Competitors with higher ranks of the preliminary-match rankings are ranked higher.

2. Time limit

  • Time limit for each player is 30 minutes.
  • The time will be measured by the NNGS server.

3. Reporting game results

  • Collect a result recording sheet form at the match-make reception upon the beginning of a game, and when the game finishes, fill in the result and sign the sheet. The winner brings it to the match-make reception. When the referee decides the result, the sheet must also be signed by the referee.

4. Cancellation and late arrival

  • When participants cancel the participation, contact the organizer before the application deadline of the preliminary-match participation).
  • When failing to inform the organizer about a cancellation before the application deadline of the preliminary-match participation, the participants are regarded as having renounced the participation and may receive a warning from the organizer and/or be imposed restrictions on participation from the next time.
  • When participants inform the organizer about their late arrival before the application deadline of the preliminary-match participation, the organizing chair will decide on the handling according to the reason and/or when they can arrive.
  • In the case of the final tournament, participants are considered late when they are not present at the venue contact to organizer without notice by the time decided by the organizer for each game. Their limit time is reduced by the amount of the lost time. However, the chair will decide on the handling in a situation he considers as reasonable, such as, traffic accident and sudden illness.
  • When a participant is absent or arrives significantly late for the final tournament without notice, he/she may receive a warning from the organizer and/or be imposed restrictions on participation from the next time.

  • Please be sure to contact on slack or email the UEC Cup organizer, to inform about issues, such as, participation declines on the day or previous day, absence due to unforeseen circumstances, late arrivals, etc. The way of emergency contact to the UEC Cup organizer will be informed to all participants.
