In June 2012, the Nihon Ki-in made a five-year
agreement regarding the advancement of computer Go
with the University of Electro-Communications (national university) and decided
to hold official regular competitions
(Densei-sen) between professional players and computer Go programs and
measure the level of computer Go programs. This event is the first competition
of the project based on this collaboration.
The competition will be held at least for five years
on a regular basis.

Prize: 100,000 yen for the 1st game, 200,000 yen for the 2nd game (Toshin Densei

*The 6th UEC Cup Computer Go Competition will be held on March 16 and 17, 2013, of
which the champion and vice-champion programs will get the right to participate
in the Densei-sen competition. However, programs that have difficulty
participating in the Densei-sen competition, such as those that are not able to
play handicap games, may be moved down to a lower rank.
